4 Easy Steps to Get the Results You Want

Untitled design-17.png

The thoughts we think generate feelings.

Those feelings inspire action.

The action we take determines the results we get.

“I have to write this blog post” is a thought that generates the feelings of being hard done by, frustrated, and annoyed. The only actions those feelings inspire is wanting to sit on the couch and avoid working at all costs. The end result I want - which is a finished blog post - is far away.

“I get to write this blog post” is a thought that makes me feel excited, inspired and motivated. This thought has me taking the actions I need to take: Sit butt in chair, write rough draft, and find fun graphics. The end result - which is this finished blog post - is what you’re reading right now!

Now you try it.

  1. What result do you want in your life? ______________________________________________________

(A live video, submitting a grant application, hiring a photographer)

  2. What action/actions do you need to take? ______________________________________________________

(Set up camera, find a block of time, ask around on social media for referrals)

  3. What feeling do you need to generate?

    _________________________________________________________________________________

(Determined, motivated, inspired, committed, in the zone, excited, unstoppable, disciplined)

  4. What thought will create that feeling?

    _________________________________________________________________________________

(“I can do hard things” “I’ll just do the next step” “I’ve got this”)

It takes practice to produce the thoughts we need to get the results we want. But this practice works. You’re reading these words, aren’t you? Try it and let me know how it goes.

You’ve got this!
